JL: "The key gives 2 flights to bK and there is no wP in the diagram - truly astonishing construction!

JH: "Again flawless construction with 4 resulting battery jumps of wS leading to 4 different mates."

JL: "... and in the by-variation there is the 5th mate. As usually quite high standard by Andrej. And by the way, if the author has chosen another key, e.g. 1.Qc3-b4! instead of 1.Bf6-e7!, there would be changed continuation from set right after this by-defence: 1...fxe4 2.Qe3+ Kf5 3.Qxe4+ Qxe4#."

JH: "White in the 2nd move enters only square d3, where we see white Grimshaw. The switchback of wR is especially appealing."

JH: "A flood of modern themes known from direct twomovers applied to a threemove selfmate. The mechanism is based on unguarding of b3 and c3. Unfortunately, the presence of the only mating picture didn't allow higher award."

JL: "The key of a) gives flight b3 - but Black avoids it for as long as possible - not for long in fact..."

JH: "Simple selfmate with a try culminates by a surprising finale in the only variation of the solution."

JL: "In try there is the same mate with double repeated 3 times, in solution despite the same mating move the mates are different - pin models! I like this one a bit more than 1st Comm... but it is matter of taste..."
