3rd TT Chess Composition Microweb C 16.10.1999

In last WCCT the section 'G - fairies' was dedicated to twomovers using transmuting kings and possibly grasshoppers and nightriders. There is the chance that composers got ideas using transmuting king, but they was unable to finish them only with orthodox pieces and mentioned fairy pieces. For them, but also for everyone who would be visited by ideas only after this announcement, we decided to organize our 3rd TT.

Announcement

Chess Composition Microweb announces a formal composing tourney for fairy twomovers (#2) using transmuting king (kings) and any other fairy pieces. They must contain any fairy piece distinct from grasshopper and nightrider, but these fairy pieces are not excluded provided that other ones will be used. Any number of distinct fairy pieces is allowed. No constraints on legality of position, number of units. No fairy conditions allowed.

Judge: Reto Aschwanden.

Entries should be sent by email to juraj.lorinc@bigfoot.com before 16th October 1999. The award will be published at Chess Composition Microweb and there is also possibility of paper printed form.

Please, let know your friends about our competition!

Examples

Very few examples exist, now I can provide only one problem by me - #2 using transmuting king, lion, kangaroos and rook lions.

Results

Many thanks to Reto Aschwanden for his award including 5 of 6 competing problems. The tourney was rather less successful than two previous, hopefully our 4th TT will be more inspiring for CCM readers and other chess composers. Anyway, thanks to the following authors that submitted their problems:
